Divine Odonwodo On the passing of Dr. Nnabueze February 2, 2015

My family and I join in mourning the passing of Agwor'oha.

As a child, I benefitted from his great medicine when my mum would take me to his clinic with asthma attacks.

As an adult, and a colleague, his wise counsel was always looked forward to, during our yearly Ukehe doctors Christmas dinner.

As an in law, his dependability was unimpeachable.

I grew up  with stories of his legendary surgical skills and adaptability, performing life saving surgeries in underserved, economically disadvantaged settings and giving back to our soceity in immeasurable and invaluable ways.

He would be remembered for his dedication, selflessness and inimitability.

Rest in in the Lord, Agwor'oha!

My deepest condolences.  May these few words from the Holy Scriptures bring you comfort in your time of grief...

John 11:32-45

32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”

38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it.39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.”40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”

45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;

To the Nnabueze family.

My family and I grieve with you on the passing away of your illustrious father, husband and brother. Agworoha was outstanding in many respects. He was a natural doctor for his innate character was compassion ,care and and extraordinary insistence on propriety and details.
I was a victim of his surgeon's knife when he took away my appendix. My wife too was in his surgery. Both experiences were pleasing and healing. Dr Nnabueze shared knowledge and trade secrets unreservedly. He had zero tolerance for uncleanliness. Monetary reward for service was secondary to him. He would rather rejoice at saving a life than accumulate millions in the bank.
Service to God was his mantra. For him neither age nor infirmity was enough excuse to stop him from genuflecting before the Blessed Sacrament. Agworoha even in his rigidity remained a model to many of us who came after him.
As we mourn this erudite teacher, this doctor of the poor, this local chieftain and conciliator, this loving father and husband let us take solace in the Lord's promise that life never ends for the faithful and that for all who follow His ways there is another fellowship in heaven.
May the soul of Dr Emmanuel Obinna Nnabueze rest in perfect peace

Chief Igbo Agujiobi and family CONDOLENCE MESSAGE January 22, 2015

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE

It was with rude shock that we received the sad news of the demise of our friend, Late Dr. Emmanuel Nnabueze, on 26th December, 2014.

We find it difficult to believe that such a friend of truth, peace, courage, high sense of humour and warm hospitality is no more. Our God who loves him more than we do, has called him home.

Death, as we all know, is inevitable. The Bible made it clear that every living being must die. But, what we do not know is when we will die. God knows the best for him.

As we mourn his transition to higher glory, we are consoled that he has overcome all the pains, trials, tribulations and struggles of this life. Our prayer is that the Almighty God will grant his soul eternal rest.

Chief Igbo Agujiobi

for and on behalf of Late Chief Agujiobi Nweze’s family.
